Whistles every day while the sun sets.

Copper pipes, wallpaper stripper, water.

Fire escape, J D Kelly Building, GSA, Glasgow

Attached to the top of a fire escape, the copper pipes are over looking

the cityscape of Glasgow. As the sun is getting ready to set the boiler

starts heating up and sowly steam starts rising out of the pipes and

with it a whistle emerges.

The collective tone created from the four pipes salutes its surroundings

and announces its presence. Effected by the gush of winds the pipes

sings in and out of tune while hot steam swirls in mid-air imitating the

smokey chimneys of the city. They sun makes its way behind the horizon

as the last water evaporates, and finally sets in silence into the dark.
